Architecture Building
Ditmas Park
An unusual site, in the shape of an airplane wing, was the inspiration for the building’s aviation-style design concept. BEAM used various creative ways to bring this concept to life. Light-filled curved ceiling soffits suggest a sky-like openness, and offer a contrast to the sleek metallic finishes. Kitchen and bathroom storage borrow from the aerospace industry’s use of modular parts. A fuselage-shaped decorative metal enclosure at the lobby is a playful design element that speaks with an ultra-modern accent.
