The client, Brooklyn Financial Group (BFG), leased the first two floors (20,000 sf) in a historic former YMCA building in Williamsburg. BEAM had the opportunity to highlight BFG’s business strategy by introducing the firm’s marketing brand into the design of the new offices. As brokers for Guardian Life Insurance Company, the BFG logo references their relationship to Guardian Life with unique letter ‘G’ in their logo. BEAM adapted the logo as a design element throughout the space, using green L-shaped accents, and rich, dark finishes. BFG’s future-focused philosophy is translated architecturally with an entryway that rises up to a reception area surrounded with subtle upward-pointing materials. Financial success and striving are further celebrated in a decorative display of trophies and backlit customer silhouettes. Custom art installations and high-end luxury European glass doors and walls were used for the private offices. Audiovisual specialists added smart-feature technology, especially in the conference center. The teller area uses sound-absorbing materials to establish discrete communication zones. A living garden wall brings the outdoors to a break area.
